It's suh a simple concept but incredibly effective. The glasses actually look really good on them, and in particular Wonder Woman and Green Lantern give me the laughs. And as always, well done on the colouring job.

Superman is NOT impressed...

The Flash looks pretty cool in shades. Of course, that doesn't change the fact that he has the 2nd lamest super power ever (Aquaman's a close first).

Flash is easily the most dangerous member of the JLA thanks to three little words: Infinite. Mass. Punch. See, Matter gets more massive the closer it gets to the speed of light. Flash, at his peak, moves at the speed of light, which means that if he just hauled off and slugged a dude he'd be hitting him with an attack that has infinite mass.

Of course, thats just in theory. In preactice he does not do this because he's a super hero and super heroes dont kill, but Super Speed is extremely awesome nonetheless.

Hmm... I never thought of the physics of it. I was just thinking that telling a superhero you have super speed is almost like telling a normal human you can do long division. It's a very common trait. Then again, I suppose few heroes are as fast as Flash.

thats probably why they introduced the concept of the Speed force, which gave the flash all sorts of crazy ass abilities.

Flying superheroes have the same problem: Flight was pretty impressive back when it was introduced, but it became so common place that it barely counts as a power now. Thats why the did stuff like give Angel metal wings that shoot shards, Give Vulture youth draining powers, and made Hawkgirl an utter badass.

Speedsters are great, I think. It's basically just one super-power with an infinite list of possible applications. It actually challenges the imaginations of the readers and the creators alike.

Flying still counts as a power, and I personally still think it's impressive, but when every other superhero can do it, it does lose something on paper. I guess it's all about how they use it. Regarding Hawkgirl, she's pretty badass as it is. I mean, she flies through the air bashing people's faces in with a big mace. Hawks are predators.

Also, Ultimate Vulture is actually not so lame at all.

No, Flash's powers are simple to conceptualize, but they're not lame. Who wouldn't want to be the fastest man alive? Going from New York to Paris to Tokyo to San Francisco and back on foot in the time it takes to cook an egg is awesome in my book of references.

But yeah, Aquaman is still lame.

Not nessecarily.

Aquaman's powers can be quite impressive.

Remember he has command over the oceans.

Doesnt sound impressive at first, but remember that 75% of the earth is covered with water.

It's Aquaman's world, we all just live in it.

and also: Controlling creatures of the deep becomes alot more impressive when you remember that both Godzilla and Cthulhu count as creatures of the deep.

Classically, he doesn't control the ocean so much as he controls the things that live beneath it, though I grant this is an impressive skill in and of itself. Still, there are reasons why he has trouble maintaining an ongoing comic series. His current one has already seen him undergo three transformations, and while I haven't kept up, I don't even know if the current Aquaman is even the real one.

yeah, me too! by the way, they are rerunning the Batman and Superman animated series on Toon Disney, on Sunday nights. you want has always confused me about Supes? Why would the light of a yellow sun grant him super powers? I understand the concept of an alien gaining abilities it wouldn't normally have on its own home world (such as a creature from a high gravity environment gaining super strength and agility on a planet with lower gravity because there isn't as much stress being put on its limbs), but why would yellow sunlight give Kryptonians the power of flight and heat ray eyes? i don't mean to sound like a stick in the mud, i love DC characters to death, but I've just never heard a decent explanation for how Supes and others from his home world of Krypton are affected in such an odd manner....

Kryptonian physiology is evolved to absorb the light of a yellow sun and convert it into power. If they could explain how that works down to the minutest detail, they wouldn't be writing stories about a superman, they'd be figuring out how to make supermen. Suspension of disbelief is essential when dealing with a scifi character like Superman. Don't take it too seriously.
